Countdown to Christmas-Day 14

Day 14…Nothing new here to report. I am still in my “morning wear”, still wearing my slippers, still in the house at 1:41pm. My best laid plans of getting out and visiting our best mates were scuppered(because of my lack of organisation mind you) so now we have a new plan. Going to the grocery store. Joy.

You see, our oven has gone kaput! The heating element has burned out on it and hubby is going to try to replace it. In the meantime, we have not had an oven since Thursday night. This is tricky, coming up with something to eat that doesn’t involve an oven! We’ve been relying on takeaways and eggs which is getting rather boring. So now it’s time for a trip to the store to see what we can find that can be cooked on the stove top. Thank god we still have that option.

As I continue to be an embarassment to the good housekeeping community and am woefully behind on all things Christmas, I shall resort to the cuteness of my Little Miss to entertain you today. We attended a Christmas market in Stamford on Sunday. There were loads of stalls, crafty people, fair rides and foods to sample. There was also entertainment. We found an Irish Folk group playing some rather sprightly music and Little Miss couldn’t help but get to toe tapping. I really HAVE to enroll her in some sort of dance class next year. The Princess and the Frog

Did you ever want to dance like a Disney Princess?  Well, I imagine I did, in my childhood but I’ve been practising a bit of Princess dancing thanks to a Twitter Dare from 2 other bloggers.  That’s right…a dare!  A vlogging “Dance Off” if you will.  Last week, Liz at Living with Kids did a post about learning how to dance like a Disney Princess.  The British Dance Council and Disney are encouraging British school children to get active.  You can see the site and the demonstration video but you may just want to take inspiration from myself, Pippa at A Mother’s Ramblings and Manda at Flying Start Magazine.  There is a competition to this as well but it’s not being judged by the vlogging/blogging public however, contact Liz on Twitter to offer her bribes.  She very well may be able to be bought depending on the bribe!  Enjoy my dance with Little Miss.  I challenge you to do the same with your Little Miss or Mister.

My Little Miss adores going outside when her Daddy comes home (see Creature of Habit ) but today it was raining.  That horrible, “it only rains this way in England” sort of rain.  But she was desperate.  She kept putting her hand to her mouth (Little Miss sign for please) and saying “pleeh”.  So I said, “Let her see what it’s like”!  Hubby opened the door, deposited her on the patio and well, you just see how much she hated it? :

This isn't so bad after all!

Little Miss was soaked to the skin but absolutely loved playing in the rain.  She’s just like her Daddy.  After a nice warm bath order was restored.  Guess my genius plan backfired a bit, eh?  So much for Mummy of the Year!
