Just Vlog It Family Fitness Fun Carnival
You came, you saw, you pondered, you vlogged. In the Just Vlog it Family Fitness Fun challenge there was so much to see, learn from and laugh at with! I must say that I am now planning to do far more obstacle courses with Little Miss and also far more cleaning! Wait a minute? Cleaning? No, never mind…what was I thinking?! At any rate, the incentive of some Reebok gear was great motivation and we had some brilliant entries which I would love to share with you.
- In her first-time entry, Dawn @ The Moiderer shows us how her adorable daughter doesn’t need a pony to have fun! I’m quite amazed at the size of the cat!
- Victoria from It’s a Small World After All has provided us with another brilliant entry this month. Her adorable children are put through their paces to prepare for their around the world adventure. You’ll want to do your own obstacle course in the garden after this!
- Kelly from A Place of My Own puts forth her first effort with some amazing head banging from her two favourite men. This is obviously practise for attending some of the summer music festivals! Rock on Piran and Mr C!
- Our fair Pippa of A Mother’s Ramblings gives us an honest and touching entry for Just Vlog It this month. You MUST see Pippa’s lovely post. I know a lot of us feel this way. Well done Pippa, I’m proud of you.
- Victoria of Muma Talk is a “newbie” to Just Vlog It but she managed to win the “runner-up” tiara and Best Newcomer title with this entry which shows us how cleaning the house and dancing with your baby can keep you fit! Well done Victoria…great effort for your first time out!
- Jen of The King and Eye puts forth another amazing entry showcasing the fitness abilities of her delightful children and shows how she can sleep for a few seconds on the couch. I still haven’t mastered that one yet!
- Melaina of Transatlantic Blonde is another newbie (and fellow American) who shared her love of ’80′s fashion and her beautiful baby boy in her adorable entry. (password to view = vlogit) It appears that Melaina has caught the vlogging bug as she’s done her very own interview on her site as well.
- And finally, our NEW QUEEN, Susie at New Day New Lesson. She’s put forth amazing entries in the two previous Just Vlog It’s but this month the title was all hers with her Eye of the Tiger inspired family fitness workout. Impressive stuff Susie and very well done to you and your family!
Ah, Just Vlog It! Bringing the creativity out of the woodwork! I’m so thankful to everyone who entered and would like to encourage everyone else to give it a go next month. I’ll be announcing the next Just Vlog It challenge theme on Friday 28 May to allow you PLENTY of time to get your entries thought up, recorded, uploaded and posted. I would also like to give a MAHOOSIVE thanks to Reebok who generously provided the prizes for the May Just Vlog It challenge. Our winner, runner-up and best newcomer will be exercising in style with their family now! Now, the rest of you…get out with your kids today and have some family fitness fun. See you soon…happy vlogging!

Make Us Something was the theme for the Just Vlog It April challenge and I now bring to you the 10 lovely entries from the challenge. There was some great interpretation of the theme, as you will see.
Susie from New Day New Lesson brings us a truly scrummy vlog about making chocolate chip cookies and shaping them into hearts. We’re all envious of her kitchen size and I was right proper hungry by the end of her vlog.

Pippa from A Mother’s Ramblings and her clever partner take the theme, Make Us Something, to a new level. Once again, for the second month in a row, Pippa was a finalist with” Make Us” and now she’s really gearing up for a win next month!

Yuri at Urbanvox and Vic at Glowstars collaborated (well, they are married after all) to produce a lovely homage to Glee in their vlog How to Embarrass Loads of People. I believe this falls under either the Make Us Laugh or Make Us Anticipate the Return of Glee. Well done to you both!

Sarah Cooper of Sweet Craftiness has graced us with another delightful glimpse into her life with her vlog, Make Us Nostalgic. Her amazing book is something to treasure. We should all be so lucky as to have a gorgeous piece of history to share with our children.

Jen at Autism, The King and I amazes us and Makes Us Say WOW with the talents of her amazing son. I need to teach Little Miss how to be so clever just as soon as I get a new laptop, just like Jen. You need to make sure you read her blog post which accompanies the vlog to learn more about “The King”.

Iota from Not Wrong, Just Different gives us an amazing lesson in tea making with Make Us a Cup of Tea. You have to listen to the background music…”Tea for Two” by Doris Day. What perfect accompaniment to go with Iota’s gorgeously soothing accent.

Victoria at It’s a Small World After All has done another brilliant vlog by Making Us a Recipe for Disaster. Victoria was a finalist with this vlog and it’s well deserved. We’re expecting remote vlog entries from Victoria & her clever family on their Around the World Trip as well! (You Tube did a little scrambling on the first few milliseconds…bad You Tube…not Victoria’s fault!)

Sian at Yummy Mummy Tips makes us marvel at her daughter’s knowledge of Spring. Model Girl and Funny Girl make an appearance AND make us nostalgic for doing cartwheels. Great work girls!

And finally, our fair TWO TIME champion, Heather at Young and Younger makes us JEALOUS over her kitchen & bathroom tiles AND manages to teach us how to Make Bath Fizzies. I’m really thinking this may be everyone in my family’s Christmas present this year! Heather went the extra mile by filming herself in the BATH as well…brave lady! It’s all Family Friendly though, no worries…

Thank you to everyone who participated in this month’s Just Vlog It Challenge- Make Us Something. Now, for May…someone needs to knock Heather off her pedestal or she’s going to get a big head. I’ll be announcing the theme here on Cafe Bebe on Monday 3 May…Bank Holiday Monday so don’t forget about it!
I’d also like to thank the sponsors of the April Just Vlog It Challenge- MUK LUKS, Myroo Skincare and Harper Collins Publishers. Heather at Young & Younger will be enjoying her Pamper Hamper this month.
A final thank you to Heather at Notes from Lapland who has been such a brilliant partner in co-hosting Just Vlog It with me. Heather will be bowing out of the co-hosting duties as she embarks on an amazing journey with her travel & tourism site, Ruka & Kuusamo A Travel Guide. You’ve got to see her site…it’s gorgeous! Had Heather never started the Marshmallow Challenge and contacted me about making a Vlogging Challenge, Just Vlog It would never have been. Thank you Heather! You’ve been a great partner and fellow vlogger. Just think…now Heather can enter the Just Vlog It challenges herself! Look out vloggers…

The Just Vlog It Challenge for March- Teach Us Something is underway and I, along with the gorgeous Heather at Notes from Lapland, am FLOORED with the response we’ve received! There are 20 (count ‘em) entries! 20 brave and talented bloggers are dipping their toes into the Vlogging pond! The videos are outstanding, with some really running with the theme and their editing skills! Honestly, we had no idea it could get this good! And with a precious Slanket as our prize, who wouldn’t want to win!
Of course, it’s not just about winning though, is it? Truly…Heather and I have a tough decision ahead of us. And I want to STRESS that if you have submitted an entry to the Just Vlog It challenge and aren’t one of the two we choose to go up for the public vote, PLEASE don’t be disheartened. We do not want the competition side to put anyone off or make someone NOT want to participate. This is why we will also be hosting a Just Vlog It Challenge Carnival on one of our blogs the week after the winner is announced. We want EVERYONE to see what brilliant vloggers are out there!
So here is the schedule for the next few days: today…a day of rest! Tomorrow and Friday (11/12 March) will be Public Voting here at Cafe Bebe. We will announce the winner on Saturday 13 March on BOTH Notes from Lapland and Cafe Bebe and then on Monday 15 March (my hubby’s birthday, if you’d like to send cards) Heather will host the Just Vlog It Challenge Carnival at Notes from Lapland. Simples! On behalf of myself and Heather, we would like to thank everyone who has taken valuable family time to enter the FIRST Just Vlog It Challenge. See you back here tomorrow morning!
The Best of the Rest Carnival
There are so many carnivals flying around these days in our amazing blogging community but there are always posts that somehow get lost in the shuffle. We bloggers have families and kitchens to clean in addition to getting out of the house at some point, so sometimes we miss a carnival deadline. Well, Cafe Bebe is here to help. I’m hosting a Best of the Rest Carnival for all of us bloggers who didn’t quite make the deadline. There are some brilliant posts that you just HAVE TO READ. Mind you…in no particular order…we don’t play favourites here at Cafe Bebe. We’re all equal, unless you want to pay me, then of course, you get top billing!
- An amazing post from The Mad House, Please Don’t Call Me Brave. I’m breathless after this one and I, for one, think that she is very brave indeed!
- Our noble Daddy Blogger, Sir Tim at Bringing Up Charlie offers up another very worthy cause with his post Please Help. With a small donation you can win a piece of F1 history! How cool!
- Sandy at Baby, Baby wades into the Current Affairs waters with her story about how she and Tess Daly are rather similar.
- Liz from Living with Kids always starts some brilliant debates in the mornings. We have thoughts about Having a Mummy Tummy Tuck (not something our Daddy bloggers have to worry about) and wonderings about Mary Poppins and Childcare Options. We can always use a good debate, can’t we?
- The lovely Hannah at Muddling Along Mummy questions “Why is it that the women have to find the work/life balance and not the men?” as she is returning to work and finding it difficult.
- Did you know that Pippa at A Mother’s Ramblings was saved by Fireman Sam. Ironically, I just watched a report on BBC East Midlands evening news educating us about the danger of chip pan fires! Goodness me! How current is Pippa??
- I’ve found an amazing blog, Marathon Mummy. Rachael has a hysterical conversation with her legs, her iPod, her bladder and her coccyx on her Valentines Day run in My Funny Valentine. You must read more about Rachael and why she’s running…truly moving.
- Emma at Me, The Man & The Baby shares with us her Top 10 Most Surreal Mummy Moments. I feel I have to hate her, however, for her number two. That or hire her services as a Personal Trainer! Number 10 is not bad either!
- Phenominal mum of 4 and 3/4 children, Amy at And 1 More Means Four shares with us the Things that Make her Happy. I think her final “thing” is most appropriate considering the noise that must be created in her household. Amy never ceases to amaze me!
- Tara at Sticky Fingers writes a gorgeous post entitled “My Girl” which is lovely and bittersweet. I hope my relationship with my daughter is similar when she gets older (minus the tantrums!).
- Sam at Mumazing has a very touching post about her brave little boy who suffers with eczema and why she’ll always have Fairy-soft hands . What a sweet little boy she has…he’ll warm your heart!
- Carly at Wives and Daughters is hosting a wee carnival herself with prizes involved! Get on over there to submit your entry and you may be going to The Ideal Home Show! She’s asking bloggers to share their most surreal parenting moments…surely you’ve got some!
- Catharine at Survive France was one of the first blogs I stumbled upon when looking for UK blogs about 9 months ago. She shares her daughter’s experience with Sex Education in French schools…something I don’t really look forward to educating my daughter about in a few years. (Beware…slighly shocking picture at the beginning of the post…but we’re all adults aren’t we?)
- Babyrambles author, Emily, brings us a shocking and vile fashion trend. I really don’t believe that The Body is Back and can assure you that I WILL NOT BE WEARING ONE! We’re not so sure about Tim at Bringing Up Charlie though!
- Tasha at WAHM-BAM ponders whether The Grass is Greener Over There and Do Routines and Holidays Go Together? I often wonder the same thing!
- And finally, Alison at Deer Baby has a dilema…Rabbit, her daughter’s precious comforter has gone AWOL! And when did YOU last see rabbit is something that every parent must live through! Deer Baby is a new blog for me…and what a find!
Phew! I think that makes 18 lovely bloggers for your reading pleasure today! They may have missed out on one carnival, but they’re most definitely THE BEST OF THE REST here at Cafe Bebe. I’m not even pointing you to any of my posts here…because I KNOW that since you’re here and reading, you’ll find something of mine that moves you to tweet or comment about. If you haven’t seen my Vlog posts yet, just click on the Category VLOG POSTS in the menu bar and you’ll see them all. Thanks for tuning in to this impromptu, emergency carnival showcasing some amazing bloggers. Come back soon…you never know when we’ll need another THE BEST OF THE REST Carnival. Now make sure you read the great posts above, comment and share the love.

As Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, I thought I would share another snippet of MY STORY. As I shared in my post last week, my hubby and I met for the first time on 4 February 2005. We had a magnificent weekend in Paris February 19-22, 2005 and it is this story that I share with you in another vlog installment. I share this also with the fantastic site The Good, The Bad & The Ugly which is run by the creative genius known as Claire (@lolas_mum on Twitter). She’s running a Valentine’s Carnival at her site where people are invited to share a romantic story in one of three categories: The Good, The Bad or The Ugly. I could share something for each but let’s focus on THE GOOD!
Happy Valentines Day everyone. Now go over to The Good, The Bad & The Ugly to read more great posts!
