The MAD Awards

www.the-mads.com

The MADs, sponsored by Butlins, is a celebration of the best and brightest stars of the British Parent Blogging world.  Thousands of nominations have been whittled down to just five finalists in each of the ten award categories. Voting is open until June 6th, and for those of you who haven’t quite decided who to vote for, we’ve put together this showcase to introduce you to our brilliant finalists.

This is your perfect chance to be introduced to a group of amazing blogs, some of which you might not be familiar with. So sit back, get comfortable, grab your beverage of choice and prepare to be WOWED by everything these MAD bloggers have to offer.

The winners of the MADs will be announced in September at a glittering awards ceremony (think Cannes Film Festival but slightly cooler temps and no annoying celebrities) at Butlins posh new resort at Bognor Regis.  Ooh la la indeed!

(Disclaimer: Unfortunately, not every finalist was able to submit a favourite post in time for this carnival.  Anyone missing from the line-up can be found on The MADs official site where you can check them out before you cast your vote.)

THE BUTLINS MAD BLOGGER OF THE YEAR:

The Butlins MAD Blogger of the Year is too good to miss. They’re creative, inspiring, funny and moving – and whatever they write, it gets our attention.    Sponsored by Butlins

My Daddy Cooks documents the culinary adventures of Nick Coffer and his two-year-old son Archie, along with recipes, kitchen creations and tips on everything from baby led weaning to introducing children to the barbecue. Despite being less than six months old, My Daddy Cooks has gained a large and loyal audience and the My Daddy Cooks cookbook is due out later this year.  In this masterpiece, Nick and Archie teach us just how to make a fab Lamb and Homemade Baked Bean Stew.

Slightly South of Sanity manages to find the humour in the parenting journey even when that journey includes a breakdown. The result is a moving and funny blog that the anonymous author describes as “Like Bridget Jones meets motherhood – but with Strongbow instead of Chardonnay and blokes called Dave instead of Darcy.”  We are treated to “Happy Easter” which is apparently known as “the one with the gay cockerels and the vicar…”

Bringing Up Charlie is the story of Tim Atkinson, a Dad who made the decision to give up his career in teaching to stay home and raise his son Charlie, while launching a writing career. Tim’s dry wit and warm observations on everyday life are combined with video footage and even the odd aria in this lovely blog of family life.  In Pants on Fire, Tim tells us that lying is acceptable if not expected!  Apparently men are better at it than women.  You don’t say!

Everyday Stranger is the inspiring story of Shannon, an American living and working in England. She writes about her family, living with EDS, and the premature birth of her twins after five rounds of IVF. Shannon also admits to a crush on David Tennant, a love of sour wine gums and a terrible habit of swearing too much.  In Pop, Shannon shares her love of babies but goes on to tell us why there won’t be any more under her roof.

Goodbye to Pert Breasts is the fifth finalist in this category. This cheekily titled blog is the work of writer Ben Wakeling, who will soon become a Dad of two. In recent months, the blog has provided an honest, irreverent commentary to the male perspective on pregnancy, as well as tips on raising a toddler.  Ben learns the sex of his unborn child in “No, sir, that’s the umbilical cord” and also helps us to understand that pregnancy is not a wonderful journey.  Astute observation Ben!

MOST INNOVATIVE MAD BLOG:

The Most Innovative MAD Blog award recognises the blog that best encapsulates the spirit of innovation in blogging, whether it’s using video or podcasting or creating amazing content for readers to download.  Sponsored by BitDefender

My Daddy Cooks was one of the first British blogs to be almost entirely based around video-blogging (or vlogging) with videos of blogger Nick Coffer and his two-year-old son Archie, cooking together. In recent months, Nick has also launched a forum attached to the blog, where parents can swap tips and advice on family cooking.  Nick and Archie’s no-cook, truly scrumptious Tiffin recipe will have you rushing to the cupboard to get it made and eaten (maybe before the kids come home!).

Cafe Bebe, the blog of American-born Karin Joyce, is the home of the monthly Just Vlog It Challenge, which challenges parent bloggers to create a home video based on a monthly theme, and post it to their blogs, with a winner voted on by bloggers themselves. Karin can always be relied upon to come up with a new theme, a new meme or just a catchy slogan for any blogging project.  In a special vlog, Karin shares her own Love Story about falling in love with her now husband.

Little Mummy, also known as Erica, shares tips and advice on blogging, parenting and family life. This year Erica, who is studying part-time for a business qualification, launched a brand new e-course for parent bloggers, providing weekly tips on everything from commenting etiquette to making money from your blog.  Erica asked “What Do You Think of The Mum Blogger e-course?” and got some amazing responses.

UrbanVox is written by Yuri, who is a self-confessed geek and gadget enthusiast. So it’s hardly surprising that this Brazilian-born Dad blog incorporates regular video blogs, along with such genius ideas as the Daily Snapshot (a daily self-portrait, made into an animated film).  Yuri shares with us his family’s recent trip to Innocent Fruit Towers and an unfortunate spelling incident in The One with the Innocent Pictures and the Vag Pot.

BEST MAD FAMILY FUN BLOG:

The Best MAD Blog for Family Fun is a blog that inspires you to have more fun with your family, whether that’s cooking, crafting or taking days out together.   Whether it’s fun days out, boredom busting activities or ways to create the perfect family celebration – it’s all about having fun together. Sponsored by Woolworths

Have a Lovely Time is a collaborative blog written by a team of parent bloggers and journalists, who review family-friendly days out and attractions. The site covers everything from overseas holiday destinations to pantos and British days out, with a focus on affordable ways for families to have fun together.  Have a Lovely Time is aiding the children’s cancer charity NACCPO.  See how you can help give back.

The MadHouse is an inspiring account of the Mad Family, with fantastic tips and advice on craft activities, days out and learning opportunities for little ones. The blog is the work of Jen, a stay-at-home Mum to two sons, who also writes movingly of her recovery from a bi-lateral mastectomy in 2009.  Jen shares with us some perfectly simple and perfectly lovely ideas for Father’s Day Cards and Presents.

NurtureStore is a store of ideas and inspiration for parents and childminders based on the experiences of Cathy, a part-time childminder and full-time Mum to two little girls of her own. The blog covers a range of activities, from cooking and gardening to crafts, imaginative play and yoga.  With a very timely post, Cathy shares some excellent Half-Term Activities to while away the days of our next half-term holiday.

A Mother’s Ramblings is the story of Pippa and her two children, known as Top Ender and Little Ender. Pippa shares with her readers stories of family days out, country walks and holiday plans, with lots of laughs along the way. Apparently Pippa’s favourite TV programme is Neighbours, and her favourite colour is blue.  Pippa, in another one of her brilliant adventures, takes her family on The Family Fun Elephant Parade!  I would LOVE to do this on our next trip to London.

It’s a Small World After All Family is the story of Victoria, Stephen, Eve, Edward and Dickon, who are planning to head off on a round the world trip in late 2010. In the meantime, this blog has lots of fantastic posts about family days out in and around London, with gorgeous photographs alongside.  Victoria shares “In Praise of Boredom” with us where she waxes nostalgic about her childhood summers spent in France.

FUNNIEST MAD BLOG:

The Funniest MAD Blogger recognises the blog that packs the most laughs per post, and a writer who is never afraid to sacrifice dignity in the service of our entertainment. Sponsored by John Lewis

Slightly South of Sanity scores her second MADs nomination in this category!  In Disguise lets us into a conversation that Slightly South has with her Husband with a Sad Face about Blogging Anonymity and the MADs publicity.

Are We Nearly There Yet, Mummy is the blog of Laura Driver, a busy working Mum with a fear of flying, and a habit of creating what she calls “unfortunate incidents” with things like bananas or hair dye.  In Flashback Photocopying my Face, Laura shares her fond memories of, well, photocopying her face!

Mr Shev is a British ex-pat in Switzerland, and his hilarious observations on just how good his kids have it these days, along with the odd solid gold parenting tip like this one on airplane travel with kids: “I would be prepared to spit roast a wild boar using Bic lighters if it came down to it.”  Mr Shev has a hilarious dialogue in his head with his delightful children after a virtually sleepless night in Tortured by Midgets.

Goodbye to Pert Breasts – In his second MADs nomination, Ben shares with us another post where he debates the pros (are there some?) and cons to a home birth.  Time to Clingfilm the Carpets will have you reconsidering your birthplans for sure!

More than Just a Mother- An anonymous blog, manages that rare feat of combining beautifully moving and powerful writing with posts that can render you helpless with laughter. Those of us who have read the blog will never look at a disposable nappy without thinking about the day this blogger found herself stuck in a long tailback on the motorway.  An innocent day at the park with her children leads to a rather hot and bothered time in the grocery queue with a certain Adonis in “Why L is the most important word in the alphabet“.

BEST-LOOKING MAD BLOG:

The Best-Looking MAD Blog award is for the blog that screams ‘style’ with every post, whether it’s stylish pictures, stunning design or an amazing theme.  The winner of this award is someone who has an eye for detail and appreciates the value of design and style.  Sponsored by simplehuman

Violet Posy, better known as Liz, is the fairy Godmother to dozens of parent bloggers, and creator of more blog badges, logos and banners than you can shake a sparkly stick at. Liz’s own blog is a treasure trove of beautiful things, presented in typically gorgeous Violet Posy style.  Liz not only makes beautiful blogs but she can also make a beautiful house.  In “How to Paint Laminate Cupboards” you get a step-by-step guide to making your cupboards as pretty as hers.

English Mum, also known as Becky, describes herself as a time-wasting, talkative layabout with a penchant for shopping, cooking, hot baths and Green & Blacks. However, Becky is a dab hand in the kitchen, and her glorious images of recipes, particularly cupcakes, bring this blog to life.  English Mum has just set the swimwear industry on watch with her amazing post about Figleaves and her subsequent fashion shoot for REAL BODIES!  We are very impressed!

Glowstars is better known as Vic, a legal PA in the City by day, and Mum of two by night. Her blog is full of stories about life for this young family in London with a funky design that was actually put together by Vic’s husband, who is also a blogger!  Vic has produced a Little Buddha and is currently struggling to find just the right size clothes for her Mr A.

Metropolitan Mum is an ex-pat living in London with her husband and baby daughter. Not only does Met Mum have a stylish blog filled with beautiful pictures, she also brought the blogosphere “Malnourished Monday”, a weekly column about the very unbeautiful images portrayed of women in the media.  In another spot-on Malnourished Monday post, Met Mum wonders if a jumpsuit is REALLY one of those clothes that make you look thin??

BEST MAD BABY BLOGGER:

The Best MAD Baby Blogger award recognises the writer who has made us smile and coo with tales of the ups and downs a new baby brings. They’ve shared those precious early days with us and we love them for it. Sponsored by Tiny Talk

Young and Younger is the inspiring story of Heather, who swapped her life as editor of a glossy magazine for a life as Mum to twins in September last year. Heather writes honestly about the ups and downs that her new life has brought her, as well as sharing her journey as she tries to figure out what to do with the two curious and active little people in her life.  Heather shares with us the fear that we all have…what happens when our babies GROW UP!  She’s Doing it for the Kids.

New Mummy is written by Carol Smith, a busy Mum to one daughter, BG. Carol has shared every step of her baby’s first year with a rapt audience, as well as talking honestly about her experiences of the many products and services on offer to first-time parents.  Carol gives us a very honest and moving post about “Becoming my Mother, My Deepest, Darkest Fear“.

Mellow Mummy is the story of Emma and her baby Lara, and their attempt to do this “baby” thing in a mellow way even when faced with an unexpected case of chicken pox! Emma, who works part-time as a software developer, loves using her blog to pass on tips and reviews to other first-time Mums.  Emma offers up “Teething Trials-The Results” which will be of great use to all mums out there who’s wee ones are suffering with teething pain.

Babyrambles was created as a way for freelance writer Emily Organ to remind herself of how wonderful parenting is – not always easy to remember when you have three children under five, including a baby girl! Oh, and Emily’s favourite sandwich is cheese and pickle, apparently.  Emily has some sage advice for all parents- Babies don’t read Baby Advice Books.  But wouldn’t it be great if they did??

Muddling Along Mummy is Hannah Gray’s attempt to make sense of the varied demands that a life with a husband, a young family, home, chickens and a job require – its a learning curve that she says she is just about clinging onto.  Hannah shares with us a refreshing post about her struggles with breastfeeding.  I Feel Trapped by Breastfeeding is an honest and open post that will touch a lot of mums.

BEST NEW MAD BLOG:

The winner of the Best New MAD Blogger award has made a big impact before their blog’s first birthday. This is the category for those bloggers that quickly established a unique voice and loyal following – and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next!  Sponsored by Sitters

Eggs, Cream and Honey is the gorgeous blog of Heather, an American living in England. Though only four months old, this blog is already a favourite for anyone searching for tasty baking ideas, particularly those who agree that all good things DO come from eggs, cream and honey.  Heather has a brilliant take on the recent General Election in the UK and gives us all her Quick Classic Berry Tart Manifesto to digest.  Perhaps the coallition government should take note?

Baby Budgeting is the blog of Becky Goddard, newly-published author and guru on how to save money when you have a new baby. Packed with practical tips and ideas for fun activities that won’t break the bank, Becky has already created quite a cult following among new parents. Becky convinces us all that a Swishing Party is not at all saucy but instead is a brilliant way to acquire new clothes, get rid of some old ones and have a laugh at the same time.

Three Kids and the Cat is the work of journalist Sharon Fried-Jones, who has a husband, three children and a cat called Batty. Sharon writes about her experience of the parenting journey in a dual-heritage household, touching on everything from birthday party etiquette to coping with colic.  Sharon tells us who she really is with her post ME…what a lovely handbag she has!

angels & urchins was originally just a magazine about a certain quarter of London, edited by Annie and Emily, friends from university, but the accompanying blog launched by Amanda, has gained a nationwide audience. Full of tips and opinions on everything fun, stylish and interesting, this little blog has made a big impression since launching last July.  Amanda does a very convincing job of letting us in on the secret that Lady Gaga is a school-run mum!  Who knew?

Slummy Single Mummy is a witty and entertaining view of motherhood, as written by journalist Jo Middleton. In Slummy Single Mummy Jo shares her experiences of single parenthood (twice over) and the challenges of finding ‘The One’ when you have two daughters and a short attention span.  Jo’s daughter Belle writes her a beautiful Love Letter to show her just how much her Slummy Single Mummy means to her.  Priceless!

MOST INSPIRATIONAL MAD BLOG:

The Most Inspirational MAD Blogger never fails to leave you moved and inspired. These are the blogs that touched readers with stories of strength, wisdom and courage.  Sponsored by Plum Baby

Strange and Beautiful is the deeply inspiring story of Rachel who is Mum to twins, one of whom was diagnosed with autism in 2008 at the age of five. Things which normal families take for granted are often very difficult for the family, but the blog reminds us that five-year-old Lyla is still a charming, engaging little girl who brings the family lots of smiles.  Rachel’s daughter Lyla gives her a sweet wrapper To Show You How My Heart Beats.  It’s so beautiful.

Got Your Hands Full started life as a resource for Mums of multiples, written by journalist Linda Jones. However, the blog has matured into a more personal blog, that has detailed Linda’s struggles with depression and is now a valuable source of support for other parents, helping to break the stigma around mental illness.  In “My Name’s Linda and I suffer from Depression“, Linda bravely opens up to clear the way for others to speak out about their own struggles with depression…and speak out, they have.

Baby Baby is the blog of Sandy Calico, a Mum to two boys under two, who were born just 11 months apart! Sandy, who always planned to have her babies close together, is now a stay-at-home Mum to her two sons, and her honest and inspiring blog is renowned for its warmth, humour and heart.  Sandy shares a heart-wrenching post about My Old Man…sharing bittersweet memories of her father and making us all feel how very much she loved him.

BEST MAD PHOTOGRAPHY:

The Best MAD Blog Photography award recognises that some bloggers don’t just have a way with words – their pictures are just as powerful, and sometimes more powerful than the words alongside.  Sponsored by PhotoBox

Clinically Fed Up is the blog of Scottish Mum and part-time student Nikkii. She writes frankly about her life with her teen-sweetheart and three children, and her passion for psychology and photography, and her blog is filled with stunning images of friends and family, as well as amazing tips on digital image techniques.  “I am sad and in the buff” is Nikkii’s latest post sharing her fears about attending the MADs Ceremony and some gorgeous photos of her children.

Sticky Fingers is the blog of former local newspaper journalist Tara Cain, who is now a Mum of two and freelance editor. Her blog is home to the enormously popular weekly Photo Gallery, where bloggers post links to photographs with a story or image connected to Tara’s weekly theme prompt. As such, the blog is a fantastic place to discover great pictures and the stories behind them.  Tara shows us the wonders of her garden and her children in it with her post, “Green Fingers“.

Journey of the Mocha Beans and Mummy is the blog of Mum of two and passionate photographer Jay, also known as Cosmic Girlie. Jay blogs honestly about her fears, her life and her hopes, along with truly gorgeous photographs of an assortment of faces, objects and places and a liberal dose of swearing.  Jay gives us an exquisite look at her cello in “Oh. Hello Stranger” which shows just how important her music and cello are to her.

Carrots and Kids is written by Deb, a busy Mum of five with a passion for teaching children how to grow veggies and flowers. This inspiring and infectious blog is a portrait of the changing seasons, filled with stunning images of the natural world and Deb’s latest gardening projects. We dare you to leave this blog without wanting to get your hands dirty.  Deb shows us how even a tulip can become a Kaleidoscope.  Breathtaking!

Suburban Mummy moved to the UK from Sydney, Australia after meeting her husband there on his holiday. Now a Mum of two with number three on the way, Nataliya is a professional landscape and portrait photographer, who often turns the camera onto her own family’s life, as they try to put down roots in the British suburbs.  Nataliya shares 7 gorgeous photos with us in her Kreativ Blogger award and makes us all want to be where she’s been.

BEST MAD BLOG WRITER:

The Best MAD Blog Writer award recognises that not all great writers are to be found in bookshops. Some MAD Blogs are as brilliantly written as anything you’ll find on a best-seller list, and these finalists are some of our favourite MAD authors. Sponsored by Childsure

Bringing Up Charlie- In Tim’s second nominated category, we are graced with Tim’s Desert Island Dicks in his 250th post!  Here’s to the next 250 Tim!

If I Could Escape is written by Karen, also known as Crunchie Mummy (so-called because of a deep and abiding love of the chocolate bar). Born on one side of the Atlantic, raised on the other, and now living in Florida, Karen is an aspiring writer and Mum of three with a passion for green living.  In Taking a Drive, Karen takes us on a gorgeous journey down memory lane starting in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and ending in Whitby.

Hairy Farmer Family is the work of an un-named blogger, who used to work for the local tourist board, but now looks after her son, Harry, and her husband, the hairy farmer. This blog has deeply moving and inspiring writing, about the author’s experiences of infertility and miscarriage followed by a premature birth, as well as lovely photographs and lots of laughs.  The Hairy Farmer Wifey is experiencing a lot of stress in her life as of late and boy does she know about stress.  Paradigm Shift allows us to see into her stressful world…let’s hope she finds her “happy place” to cope.

Not Wrong Just Different is the blog of Iota, and tells the story of her family’s move from a small village on the coast of Scotland to a large Midwestern American city. Iota’s blog provides a thoughtful insight into everyday family life in a place where life isn’t wrong it’s just a bit different.  We take a step back nearly three years to learn about a few cultural differences in Tenses- Past, Present and Future Perfect.

Everyday Stranger- In Shannon’s second nomination we find her Feeding the Ducks.  This post is something EVERY working parent can relate to…the balance…is it even possible?

GASP!!!!  That’s it!  All 45 of our finalists blogs in 10 different categories.  I’m not sure if I know my own name any more but I do know that there are some truly amazing blogs in this gaggle of bloggers.

I hope you’ve had as much fun as I have (??) and would like to let you know that there will be another carnival coming soon to another blog near you which will pick up any of the bloggers who didn’t happen to get a post in.

Reminder:  Voting is open until June 6 so after this comprehensive list and post selection, if you haven’t cast a ballot, do so HERE AND NOW!!!  The bloggers thank you and so do I.  Now I will go lie down in a dark room without a laptop and rest my weary eyes and fingers.  zzzzzzz

All Change in 2010

Time for a change

Time for a change

Well, we are two weeks into 2010 and already I’m rearranging!  Friends and family who know me well, know that I can’t stand to look at anything the same for too long.  I frequently change the furniture arrangement in our lounge, particularly for the seasons.  In the Spring and Summer it’s all about the out of doors so the furniture shifts to the back of the lounge by the patio doors.  In the Autumn and Winter it’s all about the HEAT from the only heat source in our lounge, the fireplace.  Every three months or so, I dutifully shuffle everything to different places, reorganise and enjoy the change of view.  Hubby comes home from work and says “Oh no!”  It’s a good thing that no one in our immediate family is visually impaired; I’d be messing with their minds on a regular basis.

I started blogging in June of 2009 and quickly got involved in product reviewing in addition to blogging.  Never satisfied, I finally ended up with Café Bébé as it is today- a self-hosted, WordPress blog about my life as a Mummy and some of the brilliant things we have been fortunate enough to do and receive.  The product reviewing quickly took over as the primary focus for me which is why the main address site (www.cafebebe.co.uk) became Reviews at Café Bébé.  However, recently, I’ve begun to regret that decision.  Joining groups like Judith’s Room and focusing more on my dream of freelance writing has allowed me to see that the most important aspect of Café Bébé is the writing.  My writing has slowed down because I have overstretched myself…I need to focus on what I do best.

I’ve also seen a turn in the way that product reviewing is going in the blogging world.  I want to be seen as a Mummy Blogger and Freelance Writer, not a product reviewer.  I won’t claim to be perfect, by any means, however.  I have used my Just Ask philosophy to get a lot of things that we never would have had access to.  Little Miss’ clothing and belongings have increased dramatically this past year and that’s lovely as we are on a very limited income.  But, I’ve come to realise that if people want me to review their products, they’ll come to me (If I build it, they will come).  I shouldn’t need to be knocking down anyone else’s doors.  I don’t want to give Mummy Blogging a bad name and for me, I’ve never wanted to make a career out of product reviewing; I’ve wanted to make a career out of writing.

So, hopefully, as of Tuesday 12 January (if my host technical support team can sort me out), Café Bébé will become a solo blog with a few pages, multiple categories and will primarily be about the writing.  I have integrated my product reviews into the blog under the PRODUCT REVIEWS category (strangely enough) so they are still there in their original form.  I have a few reviews yet to publish for products that I have received in the last few months and I will continue to review products if I am approached or if something happens to fall in my lap.  I have the joy of continuing to review products at The Great Toy Guide , Living with Kids, and Mummy Reviews in addition to my commissioned reviews for MadeForMums website (as long as all of them continue to have me).  Let me know your thoughts about product reviews?  Do you do them?  Are you regularly approached?  If you don’t do them, why not?  I’ve really enjoyed the fun of receiving products and the challenge of writing about them in a constructive way but I really think it’s time for a fresh start in 2010.

I welcome your comments as well as critiques.  And of course, please let me know if you have any problems accessing anything on Café Bébé.  Thank you for your support and here’s to a brilliant year!

Great New Blog Friday

Posted by on Nov 27, 2009 in Blogger Love | 8 comments

bmblogo 300x87 Great New Blog FridayI’ve been a member of British Mummy Bloggers now since June of this year.  I LOVE being a BMB member!  It’s allowed me to meet so many amazing people, opened doors and allowed me opportunities that I never would have had.  But I digress…the membership to BMB, as of Friday November 27, is 781 members!  That’s a lot of bloggers…some of whom are not British (me and founder Susanna Scott to name two), nor Mummies (there are a fair few Daddy Bloggers out there).  I’m trying to open my reading to new things and people these days so I’m going to highlight some new-to-me bloggers who are BMB members.  They may have been blogging for years, but I’ve just found them and I think you should have a read when you get a chance.  It’s going to be the weekly, Great New Blog Friday at Cafe Bebe!  Catchy title eh?  Here are my choices for Week One!:

  1. Not Far From the Maddening Crowd- A mum of two on maternity leave from teaching.  Her latest post:  Things I’ll Never Do Again! which I can totally relate to!
  2. Where’s Your Other Sock Gone?- A Stay-At-Home-Mum to 5 (oh.my.God.) children.  Safety Gate Horror had me nodding my head in understanding.
  3. The Diary of a Frugal Family- A working mum of two trying to kerb her spending habits and live the Frugal Life.  After reading her Christmas Shopping Update, I have asked her if Little Miss can be included in her family shopping.
  4. Older Mums are Fun- “Mature Mum” Diney has had a difficult year with her 10 year old daughter.  Another Star in the Sky, Mummy? is a lovely lesson for us all.
  5. No Wine on Wednesdays- Lottie is a mum of 2 who is no longer Lottie and is now, Mummmeeeeeee!  I can relate!  She’s contemplating writing a book we can all relate to: The Joy of Sex or is it The Joy of Motherhood?
  6. Mummy’s Little Monkey- is a newer blog from Jacqui, a London-based business mum who has a lot of similarities to yours truly!  Hanging on the Telephone is a regular occurrance in our house as well.

There you have it!  My first group of New-to-Me Blogs courtesy of British Mummy Bloggers.  I hope you enjoy reading them and welcome them as you have me.  Do you have any blogs I should be recommending to others?  If so, please leave me their URL’s in the comment box.  I love to find a Great New Blog!  See you next Friday for the next group.
