Kerry in our Hearts

Today is the funeral and public service of Thanksgiving for an amazing wife, mother, sister, friend, blogger and inspiration…Kerry Farrow, aka Multiple Mummy. Kerry succumbed to complications suffered after fighting valiantly against the brain haemorrhage which struck in August of 2012. Kerry leaves behind a brave husband and three gorgeous children who are far too young to be without their mother.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kerry on a number of occasions at blogging events and conferences. Kerry was so vital, energetic and positive. She handled being a mum of multiples with grace and pride which was evident in her many posts highlighting the adventures she embarked on with her family. I cannot believe she is gone. At 30, with 3 children under 5 and a devoted husband. It’s heartbreaking. The one thing I keep returning to, however, is that she leaves behind such a legacy of love with her blog. Her children have a wonderful record of their early years now and will be able to see firsthand how very much their mother loved them. This has greatly affected how I will be approaching my blogging and family life going forward. Life is far too short to waste.

The blogging community has banded together to show their love and support for Kerry on this day by joining in from 3:15pm on Twitter, using the hash tag #KerryInOurHearts which will be during the public service of thanksgiving following Kerry’s private funeral. The amazing thing is how very much Kerry touched so many people. You didn’t have to have met Kerry to feel that you knew her. Those who knew her, whether it was through her blog posts alone or through conversations at blogging events, miss her terribly and grieve for her family who now must manage life without her.

Spare a moment for Kerry and her family today and when you have the chance, hug your babies just because you can. #KerryInOurHearts Rest in Peace Kerry, we will miss you so.

  1. Lovely post Karin. Ever since Kerry got poorly I have been treasuring the time I spend with my children even more.

    Hugs to you. xx

  2. Such a lovely post Karin. The idea that she has left her children such a legacy on her blog has haunted me. It will in no way make up for them losing her, but I really hope it will help them to feel like they can know her heart in some way.
She was such a lovely lady, and one who I had the honour of getting to know well enough to call a friend, and I just can’t believe she is gone. It is just so desperately sad. X
