A Year with Sam: L is for Learning

Sam is an amazing boy. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m taking the time to soak in everything that Sam does because there will not be any more babies but I just love watching Sam learn. At nearly one year Sam is crawling around like a speed demon, free standing and cruising around the furniture, babbling for Britain, laughing along with his sister and eating virtually anything that’s put in front of him. Not too shabby for 11 3/4 months I say!

I watch Sam playing in the lounge and I can see the wheels turning in his head. He has his favourite things but he’s also quite keen to try out new games as well. One of Sam’s newest tricks is dancing. Well, not so much dancing as it is bopping in place but he’ll stand in front of the telly and bounce up and down any time a spot of music comes on. Adorable!

A few weeks ago I pulled out Ella’s “treasure box” which was a sensory type box we put together with loads of bits and bobs that weren’t necessarily toys. Sam is particularly attached to the green bath pouf and the pastry brush. I also made a few sensory toys out of boiled egg cups and Hama beads which are a new source of entertainment for Sam. By far his favourite at the moment are the Lego Duplo Cars cars. Sam will crawl around with one car under one hand so he can get there faster. Bless!

I can’t wait to see which milestone comes next. We’re hoping for some tentative steps soon but we’ll always revel in Sam’s accomplishments. After nearly a year with Sam, L is for Learning!

What a fab post! My little girl is at the exact same stage and all of the above is her all over at the mo! She loves anything musical at the minute and bops along to everything and loves me singing to her x it’s such a cute age! I too love watching them taking everything in and processing it ;) love it xx
