Flashback Friday- Happy 3rd Birthday Little Miss Ella
Three years ago today our Little Miss Ella came into the world. After a rather stressful (for me) and long (for her) labour, we were wheeled into the operating theatre for an emergency c-section as Little Miss just wasn’t coming out, no matter what! At 1:50am I finally heard (and felt) as Little Miss was lifted from me. I heard a bit of a cry and the surgeons say, “It’s a girl!” Hubby and I looked at each other and said, “It’s a girl!” and laughed and cried at the same time.
Within minutes of being extricated from her home of 42 weeks, Little Miss was wrapped up, handed to her Daddy and brought to me. Well, to the side of my head really. I stared into her dark eyes and said hello to my Little Miss. She was utterly peaceful and quiet; just looking and taking it all in. As I was about to hurl, I told hubby to take her and stay with her while the surgeons finished up with whatever the hell they were doing. The next hour is a blur…let’s not go into that.
When I was finally wheeled into recovery, my husband and daughter were waiting for me. Hubby and I had a kiss and as I got settled as best I could, I looked at my Little Miss in her cot next to my bed. She was awake and alert and just staring at everything around her. Swaddled in a hospital blanket, she was perfectly happy. Hubby and I had to choose a name! We had a list of about 5 names but knew that we wanted to wait until we saw the baby to choose. She was either going to be a Lucy or an Ella. I tried Lucy…it didn’t seem right. I tried Ella. It was just right. And so we had our Ella…our Little Miss Ella. As she’s 3 years old today, I figured it’s time to drop the Little Miss and introduce you to Ella.
As my Flashback Friday today, I give you Ella on the first day of her life, her first birthday, second birthday and today, her third birthday. What a gorgeous, energetic, clever and charismatic daughter we are blessed to have in our life! Happy happy birthday my gorgeous girl! You are my sunshine!
