Celebrating Pancake Day

Mar 8, 2011 by

Today is Pancake Day (aka Shrove Tuesday in the UK, aka Fat Tuesday in the US, aka Mardi Gras in New Orleans)! I can report that our pancakes, this morning, did not turn out like the picture on the left. Well, there may have been one or two that got a bit crispy. I’m not perfect, actually.

This morning we made some rather scrummy gluten-free, chocolate, American-style (naturally) pancakes. Little Miss inhaled them with a bit of Nutella and was a very happy girl indeed.

One of my fellow bloggers has organised herself a little Pancake Day celebration with bloggers linking up their Pancake Day posts to share in the fun and frivolity that is the day before Lent. At Domestic Goddesque you will find her collection called Not a Tosser in Sight! Lovely title Ms Goddesque! I have included a link on the Goddesque’s post which takes us back to one year ago (well Feb. 16, 2010 so a bit over a year ago but let’s not get stuck on dates). Included in my post from a year ago is video of Little Miss and me making pancakes. This is why I am so glad to have done the vlogs I’ve done. I have such precious footage of my darling girl! See the footage below (and do visit the Domestic Goddesque’s post to see other brilliant links to wonderful ways to celebrate Pancake Day)…

And as proof of how much a girl can change in a year, have a look at Little Miss today…

Happy Pancake Day everyone!

Love, the Cafe Bebe Family
