Mother & Baby Awards
“Yes, Cinderella, you can go to the ball!”
Well, I might not be Cinderella but I do have a rather nice Fairy Godmother although she doesn’t have anything to do with me attending the 2010 Mother & Baby Awards tonight in London. That’s right, I’m attending a BLACK TIE awards “do” in London. As you do!
Six years ago, when I was living in Wisconsin, USA where our claims to fame are beer, cheese, cows and the Green Bay Packers American Football team, I would never have dreamt that I would be travelling to London on a regular basis and attending black tie events (well, event…there’s only been one). Life is pretty darn good I’d say!
It’s not easy for me though…I’ll have to be away from my Little Miss for about 29 hours. Notice I’ve counted. This will be the third time that I have been away from Little Miss overnight. 3 times. She’s 2 1/2! I have separation issues it appears. But I will do my best to have fun and relax and enjoy.
The Mother&Baby Awards are an annual event where the UK magazine, Mother&Baby, gives awards to the best products for (strangely enough) Mother and Baby! It’s great fun and involves products I know and love and will also involve some great blogging friends who will be in attendance as well! My friend Sian, fabulous PR who represents brands like Stokke and Prince Lionheart, will be there and has promised to make sure I have fun. I am slightly concerned!
In addition to the awards tonight, I’ll be having lunch with one of the fab PR’s from Fleishman-Hillard (it’s thanks to them that I am going to the awards), meeting with one of my “clients” and attending a blogger event tomorrow morning where I’ll be learning about coffee. I think I’ll be needing that coffee in the morning!
So, suitcase in hand, I’m off to the BIG SMOKE today to have a bit of fun! Watch out London…here comes Cafe Bebe!
