Petite Anglaise- A Novel Idea
In 2008 I read a wee book called “Petite Anglaise” by Catherine Sanderson. It was based on her blog “Petite Anglaise” which had grown in such popularity that she had secured what many bloggers dream of…a book deal!
I was inspired to blog through reading Petite Anglaise (which unfortunately she hasn’t blogged at for a LONG time) and then managed to create my own Petite Anglaise in my Little Miss. I took these pictures when she had received her passports. Several shots of her with the George’s Cross & UK passport, several shots of her with the Stars & Stripes and her US passport…and one with all of the above.
I adore my Petite Anglaise…oh, how she’s changed in the last 2 years!
This post was cobbled together in support of Tara Cain’s Gallery at Sticky Fingers. I’m seriously lacking in blogging motivation but my daughter is always my inspiration.

Aaah love what you have done here with the theme. I have not wad that book but your cute photos sum up the title very well
How adorable! Made me smile! Lovely take!!

What gorgeous pics! A very proud and pretty petite anglaise you’ve got there. We had serious trouble getting British passports for our kids, despite the fact that they were born in England to a British father, who put his name down on their birth certificate. In fact, they didn’t become entitled to one until we got married 7 years ago! I like Petite Anglaise too, the book and the blog. I think she stopped blogging when her second baby was born? But she wrote a novel too, I think. Have you read it?
I hope she stopped eating the passport – they cost a bloomin’ fortune!
I remember reading a newspaper article about the blogger you mention. So glad it inspired you. Keep at it!
Thank Maggie! It’s the best I could come up with on serious lack of motivation.
We didn’t have any troubles with the UK passport in particular. In fact, the US passport was the most complicated as we had to go to the US Embassy in London to sort it. When I tried to make an appt. to get it we had to wait 2 months to get the appt.! She is now a dual citizen which means we have to carry both passports if we go to the US which is great fun. Still, I’m glad she has both.
Right after I snapped the picture I pulled the passport out of her mouth. It is still in pristine condition, thank goodness. No worries!
Thank you Jenny! She is a rather cute Petite Anglaise!
So cute! And I can’t believe how much Little Miss has changed!
Oh well done! It was a tricky one this week and you managed to pull one out of the bag! She looks lovely! I love that last one,it looks as though she’s saying ‘enough Paparazzi, no more photos, on your way’!
Thanks Lucinda…you’re an early bird on the blog today! How nice. Yes, she has changed so very much! I did a post in June right around her birthday with a year in review of pictures from the last 12 months. Amazing to see the changes. You’ll experience this one day!
Thanks for stopping by!
It was tricky wasn’t it? Thanks Christine! She does get tired of me taking pictures!
Fab photos and a great idea for a theme
What a lovely idea – and such cute photos of your little miss!
Such a great idea for this weeks gallery and how cute! Little miss is just adorable! x
You have such an adorable little girl, she is just gorgeous! I wish I’d done the same for my boys (would have to be a Welsh flag and maybe a daffodil & some leeks though, as my husband is very proudly welsh!)
Ah, so sweet….love this photo, what a gorgeous face she had (WHACK…ducks to avoid broody stick).
I’ve not read that book. I’ve read all about it, but not the book. I’ll add it to my terrifying reading list! x
Petit Angleise… so… what’s that US flag doing there????
lol!!!
Awww, I love this post! It’s close to my heart as I have little dual citizens myself. Still have to get them their British passports though. =)
Great post and lovely pictures!
Another book to add to my to-read list!
Awww, gorgeous pictures! Love the book too, was one of my inspirations to blog, although my life is not near as exciting as hers I fear (much to hubby’s relief!);)
